"WARSFOLK" 2007
The third edition of the International Folk Festival "WARSFOLK" took place in August (23 – 26) 2007.
During 8 concerts, 313 artists, who participated in the event his time, presented the richness of their culture and incredible colorfulness of their outfits. Three from among these concerts took place on the main scene of the festival – the Sowiński Park Amphitheatre. The participants of the IFF "WARSFOLK" could also be marveled at in Theatre on the Island, Praski Park, Józefów near Radzymin, Góra Kalwaria, and Lidzbark Warmiński.
The tradition of many folk festivals is organizing street parades. Thus, the third edition of "WARSFOLK" began on Thursday, 23rd of August, with the colorful parade that danced throughout the New and Old City Centres, and Castle Square arousing interest of the residents of Warsaw and numerous tourists. Saturday festival parades should be already engraved in memories of the visitors of Nowy ¦wiat Street for it is there where the participants of the festival appear since its first edition. Therefore, for the third time, for almost an hour, the Street resounded with a variety of music and dance.
What is more, we had an important ally during the festival this year – a wonderful weather which encouraged numerous viewers to actively participate in our events and parties. It was particularly visible during the concert marking the end of the 3rd International Folk Festival "WARSFOLK" when the auditorium of the Sowiński Park Amphitheatre – counting 2.500 seats – was full to the brim!
I would like then to invite you for the 4th edition of the festival in August 2008.
