"DALMACIJA" (Dugi Rat, CROATIA)

Croatia

The cultural club "DALMACIJA" in Dugi Rat (Croatia) was established on 8th March 1967, in order to gather the enthusiastic amateurs together as well as cherish the traditional customs, original and choreographic dances and songs of the Croatian people (especially those from the Dalmatian region: island, coast and inland). The aim was to preserve the richness of our national folklore culture on a considerably high level. In the course of years – abundant in folklore achievements - the activity of the "DALMACIJI" ranged from exploration and cherishing our rich cultural heritage and handing down traditions and customs from generation to generation to realize a praiseworthy production, appreciated by the outstanding experts of folklore and confirmed by numerous recognitions in our country and abroad. The activities of the „DALMACIJA” also include traditional choir singing, drama section, mandolin and tambour orchestras and original Dalmatian klapa singing. The high level of rapturously applauded performances on all the stages in our country and abroad has been achieved thanks to the artistic supervision of the worldwide renown choreographer - professor Branko Segović.
