Russia – "MICHAAR"

"MICHAAR" is one of the most famous ensembles from Jakutia. It was created in 1984. It has around 30 members, and some of them are the musicians which accompany the group live.

The national dances of northern Russia are interesting and specific. In the group's repertoire one can find 30 performances, which show cultural diversity of North Russia.

The group is a laureate of many national and international folk festivals: in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Turkey. Prior to its visit in Poland, the group participated in International Folk Festival Tulcea in Romania.

60-minute program which the group is going to present in Warsaw consists of different versions - one for the stage performance and one for street performance, all of it shown in colorful costumes form North Russia.

Artistic directors of the group are Aleksander Okoyomow and Semen Starostin.
