Albania – NATIONAL FOLKLORE ENSEMBLE

The National Folklore Ensemble was created in 1957. This ensemble was created by choreographers who have studied in Russia, precisely in Bolshoi Theater. During these years, the national ensemble has become successful in many national and international activities. The repertoire of the ensemble is various; it reflects all the values of Albanian national folklore and show them in all the Albanian territory rituals, dances, games, etc. The artistic level of this ensemble is very high because it treats all these values in professional way. For the high artistic level in the treatment of the choreographic folklore, this ensemble has been awarded with a lot of national and international prizes.

The ensemble is a laureate of the festivals in China, Vietnam, Czech Republic, Finland and Poland. Its high level of artistry was also admired in Norway, France, Austria, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Turkey, Malta, Holland, Greece, Denmark and Serbia. This ensemble has always given the tone and the right accent to the Albanian culture (and continues to do that) and has been regarded as the best ensemble in all Albania which continues its activities.

The wardrobe of the ensemble is very rich with original and very old traditional costumes from all the regions of Albania. The musical accompaniments is provided by virtuous musicians who play traditional instruments. The ensemble also has the group for children who has its own repertoire. Just like the older generation this children ensemble has a rich national and international curriculum./>
